From the Founder

My mother was born with anosmia; she has never known the world through scent. She lives in a reality without perfume, without the invisible trail that lingers in a room. And yet, she longed to participate in something that felt so deeply tied to femininity, presence, and ritual. So I became her nose.

Every morning, I chose her fragrance. I translated scent into feeling. I described how jasmine unfolded, soft and luminous. How citrus sparkled like morning light. How amber wrapped around you like warmth at dusk. She chose her perfume through my words. Through imagination. Through texture. Through memory.

In teaching her how something smelled, I learned something far more important: Fragrance is not just about olfaction. It is about emotion. It is about how we want to move through the world. Growing up beside her showed me that scent is powerful but meaning is even more powerful.

That belief lives in every bottle we create.

When scent disappears, you understand what it means.

Years later, I lost my sense of smell for two months. It was the worst experience of my life. I couldn’t taste. I couldn’t smell. I couldn’t feel food rise in the air while cooking. The world felt muted.

When it finally returned, the first thing I smelled was thyme. For weeks, everything smelled like thyme. I had to train retrain my senses.
The way we do as children. We learn how to see. We learn how to smell.
We learn how to feel.

Most people never realize that those senses can disappear. I did. And from that moment on, fragrance was no longer just a beautiful thing. It was sacred.

House of Iyrah was born from that understanding.

From absence. From return. From the quiet reverence of the senses.
This brand is my offering.

Each fragrance holds a memory of mine – a room, a feeling, a moment suspended in time.

My fathers presence. My mothers quiet strength. The sound of a piano at dusk. The weight of the air before the rain. I gathered those memories carefully and placed them into glass. So they could be carried and felt. So that you could create your own. This is not a fragrance for ornament - it is scent as inheritance, devotion and language.

What we believe

We believe the senses are the most intimate form of connection.

We believe memory lives in scent.

We believe fragrance can hold presence even when something feels absent.

What began as a ritual between mother and daughter now lives in the hands of those who wear it. When you choose a fragrance from House of Iyrah, you are not just wearing perfume.

Welcome to the House.
